How to install your web pages on the web site.

If you don't want to write your own HTML files, try the auto-creation interface.

text must be in HTML code
- HTML code refers to the tags (e.g. <H1></H1>) [more about HTML code]
The web server is a case sensitive machine. This means that 'index.html' and 'INDEX.HTML' are different files. Make sure you name your files with the same capitalization as used in the '<href>' and '<img>' statements in your .html files.
your main/default page should be named 'index.html'
file name: extensions should be '.htm' or '.html'
graphics files should be in '.jpg' or '.gif' format

get FTP software [getting software]
connect to the FTP site 'www.maplecity.com' [details if you need them]
login as your username
use your regular password
change to the directory 'public_html'
use FTP 'put' command to send your files [details if you need them]
The FTP software should automatically determine the type of transfer (ASCII/text, binary, etc.); occasionally you will need to specify the type of transfer.
- text files (including .html files): transfer as 'TEXT' or 'ASCII' or 'raw data'
- graphics files: transfer as 'Binary' or 'raw data'
Any auxilary files should be put in the same directory (images, other .html files, etc)
