I would like to welcome you to the ever growing world of genealogy and family history. I like to encourage people to look into their pasts, and sometimes they find very surprising information. I have just a few pointers for the beginner or someone who is just interested in their family. First, start at home. Ask around, see what close relatives know and have. Take good notes. Organize Photo albums and scrapbooks. Finally, after everything else, do some hard-core research. PS- Use the National Archives as a LAST resort! These are just a few quick pointers for a starter. Below is a list of family / genealogy locations on the internet. Check some out.
