I just wanted to talk to you a little about my feelings toward this page.
I know that it is not the world's best webpage, but it concerns my family.
Well, all of my families: Saltis, Seneke, Bak, Kazubowski, Piotrowski,
Skirus, Evans, Bradshaw, and Zavorski(y). I have done a lot of work tracing
my family's history and I wanted to share it with the rest of the family.
I know that everyone does not have access to the Internet, but this was the
fastest and most economical way of publishing my work. I have spent five,
almost six years doing research on different parts of my family. That
might not seem like a long time, but in that time I am sure I have sent over
600 letters regarding the family, and probably have had more than 150-250
telephone calls. Sometimes, when I tell relatives that I am working on the
family history they scoff at me. Working? What is there to work at? Well,
typing family trees, maintaning this webpage, scanning pictures and court
records, getting birth / death / and marriage records from courthouses,
keeping in contact with relatives overseas, trying to get relative's birth /
death / and marriage dates (who are reluctant to give them out), getting
relative's addresses (who are reluctant to give them out), organizing family
reunions, typing those long LDS family record and pedigree sheets, finding
relative's E-mail and Web addresses, travelling to libraries and churches,
writing "possible" relatives to see if they are relatives, and many other
"tiny" tidbits that amount to a whole heap of work. The next question is
usually why? I like it, that's why. I enjoy learning about my family and
finding new relatives. It's like a jigsaw puzzle. The pieces are there,
you just have to piece them together. Overall, I am proud of my work
(Though it is not complete) and I hope you enjoy it and find it
interesting as well as informative.
A Hunting I will Go,
Leonard Szaltis
